Roastery

Blue Crane Coffee Company (BCCC) is proud to announce the opening of its brand new coffee roastery and experimental coffee laboratory.

The new roastery and lab forms part of the original De Oude Pastorie building at 141-143 Dorp Street.

BCCC brings something modern and exciting to this historic Cape Dutch building dating back to the mid 18th century. The building was first used as parsonage for the Rev. Meent Borcherds. The property forms an essential part of the traditional architectural street scene of Dorp Street, and thus also of the historic core of Stellenbosch.

BCCC feels privileged and are immensely excited to be sharing such historic significance and its own deep rooted passion for the craft of roasting and making coffee with its customers.

The BCCC
Story

Once upon a time a rooibaard, a grysbaard and a melkbaard walked into a Stellenbosch wine bar. After quite a few glasses of unwooded chardonnay, the deal was done.

A coffee roastery they would create! The rest, as they say, was history.

And so their beloved Blue Crane Coffee Co. was born.

Spawned from the humble underbelly of a historic 200 year old Dorp Street address, this new kid on the block was ready to disrupt.

If it was fate that brought together this motley crew, made up of a Scottish chef, a half-German media bloke and a South African brand guy, then it was definitely not their beards, but their love and passion for doing things differently that makes this coffee unapologetically awesome!

Enjoy totally irresponsibly!
